UTSA head football coach Larry Coker announced Wednesday the hiring of Travis Bush, formerly of Texas State, as an assistant coach. He will serve as the Roadrunners’ offensive coordinator and his appointment is effective immediately.
“Travis will be a great addition to our coaching staff,” Coker said. “He has an innovative offensive mind and is an excellent communicator with student-athletes. He has also built a strong background and knowledgeable recruiting base in the Central and South Texas areas. We’re really excited about Travis joining our staff.”
Bush, 34, is the fifth staff member hired by Coker for the startup program that will begin play in 2011. The Portland, Texas, native joins assistant coaches Mike Menefee, Eric Roark and David Ross and director of operations Shane Elder.
Bush recently completed his sixth season overall and third season as the associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at his alma mater.
