Michael Omyejialta picks up pound-for-pound award

Luke Johnson holds his trophy after he became the overall champion of the third annual UTSA Strongest Man competition.


     Luke Johnson can lift more than anyone else at UTSA.  That fact was made known on Saturday at the third annual UTSA Strongest Man competition.


Johnson finished first overall after competing in 225 Bench, yoke squat (550+ pounds), iron cross (10 pounds each), tire flip (400+ pounds), truck pull (full-size Dodge), farmer’s walk (185 pounds each) and Keg Relay (from 100-160 pounds).


Second place went to Jesse Medillin, third place to Matthew Watts, fourth to Marcos Medillin and fifth went to Adrien Frausto.


Michael Omyejialta won first place for pound for pound followed by Ryan Rios in second.
The top five finishers and the top two pound for pound received trophies from the event.
