Sunday Feb. 21 the UTSA Men’s
lacrosse team was defeated by LSU
24-9.
Through most of the first half
the teams were pretty evenly
matched. In the first quarter LSU
took and early 1-0 lead and were
quick to extend it to 3-1. However
as the quarter was winding down
the Roadrunners seemed to come
alive. Attacker Todd Walling was
able to score twice and give the
Roadrunners a one goal deficit.
The second quarter saw much
of the same play with goalie Mark
Foresman stepping up and blocking
four attempts from LSU at the
start of the quarter. Foresman was
able to block many of LSU’s attempts
and again the Roadrunners
were able to end the quarter only
down one goal.
After halftime LSU started off
the third quarter in an astounding
fashion. Eight seconds into the
third quarter LSU scored its eighth
goal. After that things went downhill
for UTSA. LSU scored six
more times and left UTSA with a
seven point deficit before the start
of the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter LSU completely
destroyed UTSA. The
Roadrunners were able to score
only twice whicle LSU was able to
score 10 goals.
Although the results of the game
were not what the team was looking
for, there is still time left in the
season to turn things around.
“There’s a lot of things we need
to work on. First of all ground balls
and definitely clears” Head Coach
Karl Fisher said.
The Roadrunners next home
game will be March 27 against St.
Edwards.
